Wetaskiwin man charged for intentionally coughing on police officers
Wetaskiwin RCMP have laid charges against a man accused of coughing on officers following a domestic disturbance on Sunday.
Mounties say it was early afternoon when they responded to a complaint of a male causing a disturbance by yelling and swearing at a residence in Wetaskiwin. Members attended the residence and arrested the male, who they say was breaching his release conditions.
“The male stated he had COVID-19, and coughed intentionally into an officer’s face and again when escorted to the police car,” reads a media release from Alberta RCMP. “The male intentionally coughed into another officer’s face when being processed at the detachment.”
