Province announces ‘Bits and Pieces’ program highlighting community efforts
The Government of Alberta announced on Friday the launch of its ‘Bits and Pieces’ program after receiving more than 1100 offers of support from private and non-profit organizations in the past week.
Offers have included passenger and commercial vehicles, hotel rooms and mobile trailers, food and water services, hospital gowns, face masks, ventilators and other personal protective equipment.
Also notable are Alberta distilleries producing hand sanitizer, and a drapery manufacturer offering medical garments.
The program, a release states, is named after the bits and pieces program established during WWII by C.D. Howe, a former federal Minister of Munitions and Supply.
