Red Deer postpones Point in Time Homeless Count
The City of Red Deer has postponed the 2020 Point in Time Homeless Count due to the COVID-19 situation.
The count had been scheduled for Tuesday, April 7. A new date has not been announced.
The Point in Time (PIT) Homeless Count & Survey is a coordinated event where volunteers count persons experiencing homelessness and ask them a number of questions to get a snapshot in time of those experiencing homelessness in the community.
The PIT count is only one tool of the tools the City of Red Deer uses to collect data allowing them to identify trends and key issues related to homelessness in Red Deer, and measure progress on the Community Housing & Homelessness Integrated Plan. It is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Homelessness Partnering Strategy.
