Woman charged in Maskwacis area stabbing

A 41-year-old man is recovering in hospital following a stabbing near Maskwacis on Tuesday night.

RCMP say a 37-year-old female is facing a charge of aggravated assault, and add the two people are known to each other.

Officials with STARS confirm a male patient was taken from Wetaskiwin Hospital to University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton around 11:47 p.m.

Maskwacis RCMP continue to investigate.
