Clearview Public Schools issues message to families

Mar 22, 2020 | 3:44 PM

Clearview Public Schools is sharing a message with families to reassure them that learning materials are on the way.

Superintendent Peter Barron says health and safety are the division’s top priorities, and they recognize the challenges of being away from school.

“I would encourage you to establish a regular daily routine with expectations for learning. Be sure to follow guidelines provided by Alberta Health Services while trying to make things as normal as possible,” Barron says.

“Our staff this week are working hard to prepare for instruction from a distance. This instruction will begin next Monday, the 23rd. In most cases, this will involve the use of technology. Schools are communicating with you this week about the details.”

Students who do not have a laptop or other device at home will be loaned a Chromebook.

“We will focus on the essential learnings from the curriculum. It’s not our goal to have your child learn everything they would have in a regular school setting,” Barron adds. “If we’re providing too much or too little, we will need your feedback to get it just right. Regular communication with teachers is important.”
