AMA closes locations to walk-in traffic
For the first time in its 94-year history, the Alberta Motor Association (AMA) has announced the closure of all locations to walk-in traffic in efforts to help reduce the spread of coronavirus.
According to a statement published on the company’s website, the closures take effect Mar. 20 and will remain in place until the end of March when they will be reassessed at that time, based on direction from Alberta’s public health authorities.
“Safety remains our top priority and we continue to monitor the advice of health professionals and take steps to mitigate any risk,” says Don Smitten, President and CEO for AMA. “We’ll be updating this page with new information on our programs and services as this situation unfolds.”
“This decision isn’t something we take lightly, or without proper guidance from health experts,” adds Smitte. “But we must remain true to our legacy of protecting the things that matter most—a commitment that first and foremost includes the safety of our members, your families, and our AMA employees.”
