Brittany Thibeaux of the Olds College Broncos women’s basketball team has been named a 2019-20 All-Canadian by the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association.

Thibeaux had one of the most balanced seasons, statistically, a CCAA basketball student-athlete has ever had.

The Lake Villa, Illinois native finished the season in the top 10 in nearly every category in ACAC play, including time played, field goals, field goal percentage, points, points per game, free throws, rebounds, defensive rebounds, defensive rebounds per game, steals and blocks.

Thibeaux, a two-time ACAC scoring champion, now ranks near the top of some of the league’s all-time records. She does own several, including most two-point field goals in a season with 218, most blocks in a game with seven, and most blocks in a season with 130.

“Brittney’s impact reaches further than the basketball court,” says Broncos Athletics Manager Trina Radcliffe. “She is a ‘franchise’ player in how committed she is to the game and how she makes the players around her better. All of us in the Broncos family are proud of her accomplishments over the past three seasons and know she will do amazing things as her basketball career continues.”

At six-feet tall, Thibeaux will be graduating this spring with a Sports Management Diploma and Business Management Certificate.

This is the second year in a row she has been recognized as an All-Canadian, after being selected as the ACAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Year, ACAC South First-Team All-Conference member and ACAC Championship tournament All-Star earlier in March.
