Red Deer firefighters raise over $8,800 for Muscular Dystrophy Canada

Nearly $9,000 was raised over the weekend as a group of Red Deer firefighters camped out on the rooftop of Fire Hall No. 3 for a good cause.

The four firefighters climbed to the roof at noon on Friday and made their way down on Monday at noon for their annual Muscular Dystrophy fundraiser.

The team of four was hit with some harsh conditions through the weekend, with overnight lows hitting the mid -20s.

They were accompanied by fellow members on the ground, collecting donations for the boot drive.

More than $8,800 was collected, though that fundraising total could climb once some issues with an online donation page are sorted out.
