Alberta’s delegation — lovingly known as the Wolfpack — to the 2020 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games is returning hone with a hefty medal haul of 34 gold, 26 silver and 26 bronze.

The Games happened in Thunder Bay, ON from Feb. 25-29.

“To say that Team Alberta was triumphant would be an understatement,” says Team Alberta Chef de Mission Jodi Flanagan. “Alberta had many great victories over opponents or with personal best scores. We had many achievements over the year including fitness growth, team bonding, and improvements in their sport performance.”

Central Alberta sent three athletes — all speed skaters — including Thomasina Payne of Clive, Tyler Larson of Rocky Mountain House, and Dylan Deuchar of Red Deer.
