Camille students take part in Jump Rope for Heart

Feb 29, 2020 | 8:57 PM

Friday at École Camille J. Lerouge School was spent joining the community together for a very longstanding program put on by the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Students from pre-K to grade nine took part in Jump Rope for Heart, skipping for 20 minutes at a time to bring awareness and help support the cause.

“Our goal for this year is to get the message to students that being physically active and taking care of your health is important. It is a lifelong lesson,” said Caroline Ayotte, a teacher at Camille. “By fundraising we can help the people in our community live with a better quality of life. This disease touches too many people that we love and care for.”

Throughout February, students collected donations for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The school’s overall goal for students was to learn the positive impact of an active lifestyle.

“Our school community is excited to once again participate in the Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser,” said Principal Sinead Armstrong.

“This worthwhile fundraiser is one that our school community looks forward to each year and in the past have contributed thousands of dollars to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Our community is passionate to once again support this organization so they can continue to do the great research to help folks who are affected.”
