Man facing several charges after fleeing from police in stolen vehicle
A man is facing several charges after he was arrested last week following the theft of a vehicle.
On February 22, members of the Drayton Valley RCMP, with the assistance of Breton RCMP, spotted a Ford F-350 truck on Highway 22 in Brazeau County that had been reported stolen the previous night.
A tire deflation device was used to try and disable the truck but the vehicle fled for a short distance before getting stuck in a ditch, where the driver was then arrested.
36-year-old Michael Mackinaw of O’Chiese First Nations has been charged with five offences, including possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, operation of a motor vehicle while being pursued by a peace officer, breach of release order, operating a motor vehicle while unauthorized, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
