RDC volleyball stars earn year-end league honours
A total of seven Red Deer College Kings & Queens Volleyball players were recognized at their respective Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Championship Awards Banquet on Wednesday.
In Medicine Hat, Emma Letkeman of the Queens was named the ACAC Women’s Volleyball South Rookie of the Year.
Letkeman, a first-year setter, impressively ranked third in the league with 8.64 assists per set. The student-athlete from Victoria totaled 570 assists, 84 digs, 19 service aces and 18 blocks, and her contributions were significant.
“Emma is very deserving of the award. Not too often you see a first-year setter come in and be part of a 21-3 record,” says Queens Head Coach Talbot Walton. “She can set the ball from all over the court and get it to the spot where the hitters can hit.”
