RDC Queens hockey player investigated for using racial slur during game
A Red Deer College Queens hockey player was forced to apologize after reportedly using a racial slur towards an opponent.
The incident occurred during a game between the Queens and SAIT Trojans on Feb. 8 in Calgary, with the RDC player allegedly yelling the slur at a SAIT player who is Indigenous.
Davina McLeod, the SAIT player involved in the incident, shared her account of what happened in a post on social media.
“I felt defeated and taken aback for the remainder of the game; someone just used a racial slur aimed at Indigenous people in 2020,” her tweet read in part.
