Targeted incidents, police believe

Mounties investigating two shots fired at Deer Park home

City Mounties are investigating a pair of shooting-related incidents at a residence in Deer Park earlier this week.

Corporal Mike Evans with Red Deer RCMP says the first incident at the home on Dixon Crescent happened just after 9 p.m. Monday.

“Members attended and noted the front window was struck, but the projectile did not penetrate through both panes of glass,” says Evans. “A silver car was seen leaving the area around the same time of the complaint.”

Evans says the second incident at the same residence happened at about 3:40 a.m. Tuesday and that responding officers noticed another single shot to the front garage door.

No one was injured in either of these incidents and RCMP are continuing to investigate.

“The RCMP does not believe there is any threat to the public. This does not appear to be a random act,” noted Evans.

Residents on Dixon Crescent and Douglas Avenue are asked to check their surveillance cameras for any unusual activity that occurred between 8:45 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. on Feb. 17 and between 3:15 a.m. and 3:45 a.m. on Feb. 18 and to contact Red Deer RCMP at 403-343-5575.
