St. Teresa of Avila School shows support for The Mustard Seed
On Monday, students and staff at St. Teresa of Avila School joined together for the “Coldest Day of the Year” walk to raise awareness for homelessness and to support The Mustard Seed in Red Deer.
This event teaches students about the challenges that someone who is homeless may face and to learn about ways to help those in our community.
Staff and students brought in a loonie or toonie hoping to raise $400 for the Mustard Seed.
“Through this event, we hope our students learned to be thankful for shelter, food and clothing,” said Teacher Kayla Angeltvedt at St. Teresa of Avila School. “It is important to support non-profit organizations, such as the Mustard Seed. They rely on the support of the community to provide services and supports to families.”
