Red Deer man sentenced to five years for drug trafficking
A man who was the primary focus of police in making a drug trafficking bust in late 2018 is now spending the next few years behind bars.
On December 13, 2018, ALERT’s Red Deer organized crime and gang team concluded an investigation by executing two search warrants at homes in Pines and Vanier Woods.
The searches yielded $66,000 worth of cocaine, along with further evidence of drug trafficking, including scales, score sheets and packaging materials. Three firearms were located, including a Ruger handgun, an SKS rifle, and a shotgun.
Stephen Jones was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and nine firearms offences.
