Woman charged for fatal pedestrian crash at O’Chiese First Nation

Charges are pending against a 22-year-old woman following the death of a teenage girl who was struck by a vehicle on the O’Chiese First Nation.

It was just before 6 a.m. Saturday when Rocky Mountain House RCMP responded to a complaint of a disturbance on the O’Chiese First Nation.

Responding members determined there was a motor vehicle collision involving a young female pedestrian who was struck.

Police say the female driver of the vehicle was arrested on scene.

The 17-year-old female victim was flown by STARS to Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary.

Unfortunately, the girl succumbed to her injuries and died in hospital on Monday.

Mounties say their investigation is ongoing, and note an update will be provided when available. No names have been released at this time.
