Hurricanes blow past Rebels in annual blood challenge

The Lethbridge Hurricanes have made a strong comeback in the blood challenge with the Red Deer Rebels in support of Canadian Blood Services.

In the third week of the challenge, the Hurricanes surpassed the Rebels with 136 donations to Red Deer’s 48. The current totals sit at 206 donations for the Rebels and 253 from Lethbridge.

In terms of new donors, Lethbridge recruited 17, where Red Deer had 10 new donors. That total sits at 44 to 25 in Lethbridge’s favour.

There are two weeks left in the challenge between the two teams.

There are currently 250 open appointments that need to be filled at the Red Deer Donor Centre.
