A man and two youths have been charged after items were stolen from a gas station store in Penhold this week.

Innisfail RCMP responded to a panic alarm call at the Centex in Penhold on Monday.

Police say two males had come into the store and demanded cash before fleeing with undisclosed items in a dark-coloured Honda Civic car.

“Some very alert citizens provided excellent detailed descriptions of the males and the suspect vehicle to police,” Mounties say in a release. “RCMP responded quickly and with the assistance of Innisfail RCMP traffic services, Red Deer RCMP and Didsbury RCMP the suspect vehicle was located, stopped and three occupants were arrested without incident.”

As it turned out, the vehicle the suspects had fled in was stolen.

Chgkouth Makuag, 20, of Calgary Alberta has been charged with, theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and transporting alcohol within reach of the driver. He was released by the Justice of the Peace to appear in Red Deer provincial court January 29.

Two youths, both 15-years-old, were also arrested and charged. Their names cannot be released under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
