Pair wanted in connection to body found west of Calgary arrested in Edmonton

RCMP Major Crimes Unit has made two arrests in connection to a stolen vehicle and the death of a man who was found near Springbank Airport on Dec. 29.

Police appealed to the public earlier this week for help finding Trista Nadene Tinkler, 34, and Robert Gordon Daignault, 51.

They say the pair had stolen the vehicle of the deceased man and may have made their way to the Edmonton area.

In an update Saturday, RCMP say they arrested both Tinkler and Daignault on Friday in Edmonton.

Charges against them include possession of property obtained by crime, theft of a credit card, and failure to comply with an appearance notice. Daignault is also charged with obstructing a peace officer. No charges have been laid directly related to the man’s death, though police have said it is being investigated as a homicide.

Meantime, the vehicle is yet to be found. It is described as a 2013 Kia Optima, bronze in colour, with Alberta license plate E22149.

RCMP add that no further information is available right now as the investigation is ongoing. The identity of the victim has been confirmed, but police are not releasing his name or particulars at this time.
