Red Deer road closures and construction update

Drivers in Red Deer are being given a heads up for a pair of road closures taking place on Thursday.

48 Avenue between 52 and 53 Street will be closed at noon for a special event. The road will remain closed through the weekend and will reopen at noon on Monday, September 16. Detours will be posted for drivers while the road closure is in place.

Drivers are reminded to obey all signs and pedestrians are reminded to cross only at designated crosswalks.

As well, drivers in Highland Green and Riverside Meadows may experience traffic delays on Thursday as one of the roads connecting the two neighbourhoods will be closed for construction.

Riverview Avenue from 60 Street to 63 Street will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Motorists are asked to use Taylor Drive or Gaetz Avenue during this period.
