New bench in Rocky honours victims of impaired driving
The Town of Rocky Mountain House unveiled the new Mothers Against Drunk Driving bench across form the Christianson Sports and Wellness Centre on Tuesday.
The bench was generously given as a gift from MADD Red Deer & District, MADD Canada, and James H. Brown & Associates.
“This beautiful bench will be a solid reminder to all residents and visitors, that we do not take impaired driving lightly,” said Mayor Tammy Burke. “It is my hope that it’s quiet presence here will prompt conversations that matter, conversations about safe habits and responsible choices, so that no other family member suffers an unbearable tragedy.”
Nicole Keeler from James H. Brown & Associates said many of their clients and families have suffered from the devastation caused by impaired driving, so they were honoured to contribute to the memorial bench.
