Buccaneers topple Monarchs setting up AFL final against Calgary
The Central Alberta Buccaneers are headed to the Alberta Football League final.
They beat the Fort McMurray Monarchs 28-20 at Setters Place on Saturday night, and will now go toe-to-toe with the Calgary Wolfpack on the road Aug. 24 for all the marbles, including a trip to nationals.
It was an inauspicious first half for the Bucs who found themselves trailing 11-7 at the half.
However, they found a second wind in the third quarter tacking on 14 points to take a 21-11 lead to the final frame.
