Weekly RCMP report August 8-15

August 8

3:07 am – Brazeau County – RR 90 – Red Artic Cat 500 quad stolen from a residence. Complainant heard it start up and called police. Police attended and were unable to locate the quad.

8:43 am – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Break and enter to a business overnight. Suspects gained entry through a window and stole a laptop, cellphone, computer hard drive stolen.

12:10 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Theft of a battery from a holiday trailer overnight.

3:08 pm – Brazeau County – Theft of copper wire overnight, approx. 600 feet of wire was stolen from a lease site.

3:18 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Utility trailer stolen sometime in the last month. Black Snowbear 8000HD with Alberta license plate T81559.

August 9

3:45 pm – Drayton Valley – McDonalds – Complainant called to report a scam. Phone call received from male who identified themselves as being from Corporate Office and advised of an overnight shipment from UPS containing an upgrade for surveillance. Funds totalling $3425 sent.

August 10

4:11 am – Drayton Valley – St. Anthony’s Church – Complainant reporting a suspicious person in a clown suit. Alarm had gone off at the church. Member patrolled area, church doors secure. No clowns located.

10:54 am – Drayton Valley – Pleasantview Mobile Home Park – Members received a report of an assault and breach of order from Breton RCMP. Members attended location and arrested 27-year-old Tyler Dejonge. Dejonge held for bail hearing and released.

9:39 pm – Drayton Valley – Petro Can South – Complainant reporting theft of black Ford F350. Keys left in gas cap.

August 11

6:26 am – Drayton Valley – Home Away Inn – Complainant calling to report theft from vehicle overnight. Back window had been broken on a white 1 ton super duty with a medic camper attached. AED machine, glucose packs, ice packs prescription sunglasses stolen.

3:30 pm – Drayton Valley – Pleasantview Trailer court – Complainant reporting theft of vehicle. Blue GMC truck was taken. Complainant advised that they had signed an agreement to trade vehicles, however the other vehicle does not work, so they took back the truck. Civil matter.

3:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting a possible fight near Eldorado school between two youth. Member attended location, male youth located. No injuries observed. Upon further followup, one male went home with swollen face. Still under investigation.

August 12

9:00 am – Drayton Valley – IGA – Complainant called to report that their 2017 grey Cadillac ATS was hit while parked in the parking lot. Damage to the rear passenger corner.

9:44 am – Drayton Valley – Wal Mart – Complainant calling to report unknown female attempted to steal a significant amount of cosmetics. Female described as short dark hair, wearing a tube top, shorts, sandals. An adult male with short dark hear wearing a t-shirt and jeans. Arrived in Ford extra cab pickup.

9:51 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting theft of copper wire at lease site.

11:14 am – Drayton Valley – Valley Ford – Complainant calling to report a customer is in the service area threatening employees. Member attended, there were some issues with service received by customer.

11:47 am – Brazeau County – RV Park and Campground – Complainant reporting theft of their 2007 SOAR camper over the weekend. Witnesses advised that the trailer had been moved on August 10 in the early afternoon.

August 13

5:57 am – Drayton Valley – Valley Power – Complainant reporting 2 males on the property stealing copper wire. Members attended, bike trailer located, males were not.

9:54 am – Tomahawk – Complainant reporting the heavy duty lock on the gate at the transfer station was cut. Metal stolen.

12:06 pm – Drayton Valley – 56 Street – Complainant reporting female throwing rocks at passing motorists. Members attended and located known female who was subsequently arrested for intoxicated in public. Released when sober.

August 14

7:23 am – Brazeau Dam – Complainant reporting a black older GMC Denali is abandoned. Missing tires and wheels.

12:51 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant reporting an erratic driver in a red Chev S10 swerving on the road and into oncoming traffic. Member patrolled area, vehicle located and traffic stop conducted.

6:50 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Liquor Store – Complainant reporting an intoxicated driver in a silver GMC with black rims and tailgate is swerving all over the road. Member attended and located driver who was subsequently arrested for impaired driving.

August 15

6:06 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a break and enter to the east side of the building. Windows were propped open and screens broken. Complainant alerted by alarm company. Member attended, no entry to building.
