Riggers swept from playoffs by Sherwood Park

The season has come to an end for the Red Deer Riggers.

The Riggers were swept by the Sherwood Park Athletics in their best-of-three Sunburst Baseball League playoff series, losing 6-0 on Wednesday and 6-1 on Thursday.

Red Deer managed just three hits in game one and were held scoreless until the seventh inning of game two by a stingy Athletics squad.

Sherwood Park advances to the league final against the Edmonton Confederation Cubs. They are also representing Alberta at Nationals later this month.
