She went to Wilkes University, where she earned a Master of Science in Education in instructional Pedagogy. She also acquired a Bachelor of Education degree and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Lethbridge.

“I am honoured to take on the role of Principal at École James S. McCormick School,” Oehlerking said. “This is a special school community, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside our staff, students, and families to support learning, well-being, and success for every student.”
