Heat warning issued for much of Alberta
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for much of Alberta.
The agency says a ridge of high pressure continues to build over the Prairies, creating a very warm airmass that will produce daytime high temperatures near 30 degrees today and Tuesday.
Environment Canada says this warning may be expanded further as the ridge strengthens, but expects temperatures to cool off mid-week.
As of Monday morning, a heat warning has not yet been issued for Red Deer. The forecast for our area calls for a high of 27 degrees today (Humidex 30) and 29 on Tuesday (Humidex 34) before cooling to 19 with a chance of showers on Wednesday.
