Two arrested, stolen vehicles recovered by Blackfalds Mounties

Blackfalds RCMP have laid charges against two people after recovering stolen vehicles.

The first arrest happened on June 4 when Blackfalds GIS spotted a vehicle they suspected to be stolen in the town.

The vehicle was followed into Red Deer where a male was arrested.

Robin Slaney, of no fixed address, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime, both over and under $5000, driving while disqualified, and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

Slaney was released and will appear again soon in Red Deer Provincial Court.

Then, on June 8, Mounties spotted another stolen vehicle in the town of Blackfalds.

The investigation led to the apprehension of a lone female and recovery of the stolen vehicle.

Kailyn Diane Verquin of Red Deer is charged with possession of property obtained by crime, both over and under $5000, possession of identity documents, and failure to comply with a recognizance.

Verquin was released with a promise to appear soon in Red Deer Provincial Court.
