Buccaneers open 2019 season this weekend

The Central Buccaneers are primed and ready to open their 2019 Alberta Football League season this weekend.

The Bucs head to Calgary on Saturday to take on the Wolfpack. Kick-off at Hellard Field at Shouldice Park is at 2 p.m.

It’ll be the first game for the Buccaneers under the guidance of new head coach Gary LaGrange.

The team was forced to wait an extra week to play their first game after the Grande Prairie Drillers folded and the league schedule was revised.

The Buccaneers will play their first home game of the season next Saturday, June 1 at Setters Place at Great Chief Park versus the Ft. McMurray Monarchs. Game time is 6 p.m.
