Drayton Valley weekly RCMP report April 25-May 2

April 25

11:08 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complainant reporting a dump truck is spilling gravel on the road. Member patrolled, however dump truck was gone. No further description provided.

12:07 pm – Drayton Valley – 62 St/Power Centre Blvd. – Complainant calling to report harassment. Male came into their workplace and asked for their job back. Advised they would not be getting their job back.

12:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 7-11 – Complainant called to report suspects from previous shoplifting complaint had returned. Licence plate of vehicle provided. Member contacted the suspect and advised they needed to pay for the items taken previously.

1:10 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Complainant reporting found property in their back yard. Member attended and located items. Property was previously stolen from a vehicle. Property returned to owner.

3:38 pm – Drayton Valley – Centre Court Trailer Court – Complainant calling to report two individuals would not leave the premises. There is damage to the property. Members attended and all parties separated. Landlord Tenant issue.

4:42 pm – Yellowhead County – Elk River Road – Complainant reporting they observed a white pickup truck in the trees, wheels missing. Vehicle stolen from Three Knights parking lot in July 2018.

5:42 pm – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Complaint of an assault. Members attended and located two parties slightly injured. Complaint is related to previous complaints regarding one party wishing to pick up their deceased fathers belongings.

5:49 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Several calls were received regarding an assault on a male. Members attended, victim taken by EMS to hospital. Matter is still under investigation.

9:21 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a silver Kia vehicle parked behind a tree on a lease site. Vehicle is related to a known thief of copper wire. Vehicle towed.

11:41 pm – Drayton Valley – Canada Post – Complainant calling to report hearing a single gun shot coming from area of the post office. Member patrolled the area, nothing located.

April 26

­12:00 am – Drayton Valley – 54 Street – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop with a female driver. Vehicle appeared to stop, then fled as member approached the vehicle. Vehicle went through flashing red lights. Registered owner of vehicle located and spoken to.

12:46 am – Drayton Valley – Southside DV Travel Center – Complainant calling to report theft of vehicle. Vehicle had been previous located on a lease site and towed.

9:22 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting being defrauded of funds from two bank accounts. Matter is still under investigation.

10:53 am – Drayton Valley – 911 hang-up, male heard moaning in the back ground. Member was able to determine where and who the call was from. Male contacted and was not in any danger.

11:59 am – Drayton Valley – Wal Mart – Complainant reporting someone may be staging items to be stolen from the store. Wants members to be aware.

2:57 pm – Lodgepole – Complainant reporting theft of copper wire from lease site.

3:17 pm – Area of Lodgepole – Complainant reporting theft of copper wire from lease site.

3:52 pm – Drayton Valley – Center Court Trailer court – Complainant reporting a dispute. Complainant advised they were sent there by the owner of the property to clean up the place. Occupants who are living there are disputing that these individuals are there. Members attended. All occupants spoken to and everyone with the exception of the tenants were advised to leave.

3:59 pm – Area of Lodgepole – Complainant reporting theft of copper wire from lease site.

4:08 pm – Area of Lodgepole – Complainant reporting theft of copper wire from lease site.

5:23 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting an erratic driver. Black Dodge truck is hauling a load of lumber and is all over the road. Member patrolled area, vehicle not located.

6:45 pm – Drayton Valley – Hospital. – Member asked to assist Rocky Mountain House RCMP with locating a female believed to have attended the Drayton Valley Hospital as a victim of an assault. Member attended and located female.

10:22 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member conducted a check stop, vehicle stopped and driver issued a driving suspension for having a significant amount of liquor in system. Vehicle towed. Driver had young child in the vehicle as well.

11:00 PM – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Members conducted a traffic stop. Driver had no drivers licence and was wanted on outstanding warrants from Calgary Police Service. Driver arrested and transported to Drayton Valley. Vehicle seized for 72 hours.

11:53 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting an attempted entry to two vehicles. Suspects on foot from location. Members attended location, no damage found to vehicles. Member continued patrols in area, suspects not located.

April 27

12:47 am – Drayton Valley – Drayton Manor – Complainant reporting harassment. Requests officers attend and speak to male who has been harassing them. Member attended, male not there. Attempts to locate male were negative. Matter is still under investigation.

2:03 am – Drayton Valley – Cardium Theatre – Complainant reporting their black 2004 Honda Accord was broken into. Drivers side door had been pried open. Free movie tickets, keys to friends’ vehicle and small amount of change stolen.

2:44 am – Drayton Valley – McDonalds parking lot – Complainant reporting an intoxicated driver in a black 2014 Camaro hit the ditch, called someone who then picked up driver in a black newer model Dodge Ram. Statement obtained. Vehicle driver contacted and 24-hour suspension issued along with violation tickets.

8:20 am – Parkland County – Residential panic alarm received. Member contacted complainant who advised all is ok. Was brushing snow off vehicle with keys in pocket, accidentally hit the panic button.

9:13 am – Drayton Valley – 49 Street – Complainant reporting theft of Star Wars wallet containing drivers licence, SIN, birth certificate and health card were taken from their 1997 green BMW. Damage to drivers’ door handle, passenger rear door was left ajar.

10:21 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a white Dodge truck with the drivers’ side back window broken has passed a lot of vehicles at an intersection, driving erratically. Members conducted patrols, vehicle not located.

11:10 am – Drayton Valley – Brougham Drive – Complainant reporting a break and enter into parking garage through stairwell door. Several vehicles all unlocked had been rummaged through.

2:10 pm – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Complainant reporting a break and enter to residence. Entry gained through the basement window. Matter still under investigation

2:54 pm – Brazeau County – Elk River Road – Complainant reporting an abandoned trailer and quad near the dam turnoff. Member attended location and trailer had been pulled out.

4:05 pm – Drayton Valley – Poplar Ridge Trailer Court – 911 call, person arguing with operator and hung up. Member contacted complainant who advised their brother did not come home the previous night. Brother was located at the Westwind.

6:53 pm – Lodgepole – Complainant reporting their vehicles were rummaged through sometime overnight. Cologne and keys stolen.

9:01 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Checkstop conducted with vehicle. Breath demand failed. Driver brought back to Drayton Valley detachment where a suspension was issued and vehicle subsequently towed.

10:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 58 Street – Complainant reporting two trucks were driving erratically. Blue newer Dodge with chrome rims and a white Chevy with a red LED brake light bar under the tailgate. Vehicles were observed racing from the Omniplex area. Members patrolled the area, vehicles were not located.

11:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 55B Avenue – Complainant reporting a noise complaint. Motorbikes revving next door and loud music. Members attended the residence and advised occupants of the complaint. Occupants realized the time and turned everything down, no further complaints received.

April 28

12:11 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reports they were applying for a loan online, they paid the company a deductible in Google Play cards. Afterwards, complainant realized it was a fraud and closed all accounts they had provided information for.

12:38 am – Drayton Valley – Watino Park – Complainant reporting loud music. Members attended, no loud music heard. Complainant advised they can call the new bylaw officer for these types of complaints.

10:20 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Complainant reporting hearing a loud noise in the back alley. Members attended, no one observed in area. Possibly fireworks.

10:53 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Member on patrol observed a vehicle speeding. Traffic stop initiated, driver arrested for impaired driving and taken to detachment. Driver was also charged with no insurance.

April 29

1:18 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant reports an unknown person bear sprayed their apartment through a window. Member attended. Complainant did not wish any police involvement.

3:20 am – Drayton Valley – 7-11 – Complainant requesting members attend and remove an unwanted female who is refusing to leave and causing issues. Female is banned from the store. Members attended and suspect left as requested.

7:58 am – Drayton Valley – 57 Avenue – Complainant calling to report a suspicious male is walking away with an abandoned junk motorcycle, a pedal bike and a weed whacker on their back. Members patrolled the area and located the suspicious male who was well known to police. None of the items were stolen.

12:01 pm – Drayton Valley – Lakeview Inn and Suites – Complainant calling to request male be removed from premises. Member attended, male was complaining of chest pains. EMS called. Male taken to hospital.

1:05 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Avenue – Members called to a child custody dispute in which complainant advised that they served child custody papers on their ex, who then threw them onto the street. Member advised that the documents had been officially served.

1:42 pm – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Cause for Critters called to advise that a dog had escaped and went back to its original owner. Complainant wondering if RCMP could assist in retrieving the dog.

3:05 pm – Drayton Valley – Foxwood Inn & Suites – Complainant reporting former male guest has been calling them and yelling and screaming at them.

3:21 pm – Drayton Valley – 911 hang-ups – Male from previous complaints dialed 911 then hung up. Members located male at Super 8 and provided courtesy ride to Matador.

3:50 pm – Drayton Valley – Frank Maddock parking lot – Complainant advising that female is currently driving while intoxicated on marijuana. Vehicle is a small grey car, just left the skate park. Patrols in the area were negative.

8:19 pm – Drayton Valley – Lions Park – Complainant reporting mischief to small day use area. Complainant observed three suspects cutting down a tree with an axe and having a fire. One male had black curly hair, male cutting down tree had grey hoody with hood covering. Member attended, group were burning cut up pallets in designated area.

8:41 pm – Lodgepole – Complainant reporting a break and enter to warehouse and cargo unit at battery site. Cargo trailer left open, ATV was left behind, however complainant is concerned they will return.

11:45 pm – Drayton Valley – Sunrise Village – 911 hang-up received. On callback caller advised they required EMS not police.

April 30

2:12 am – Drayton Valley – Ring Road – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop. Driver arrested for impaired driving. Seven day seizure of vehicle and 30-day driver suspension issued.

2:28 am – Drayton Valley – Female is in the company of their ex in which there are no contact conditions. Members attended, ex had left. Members patrolled the area with negative results.

1:09 pm – Brazeau County, Cynthia area – Collision reported on Whitecap Road between semi trailer and a passing truck.

2:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 45 Street – Complainant reporting a theft of propane tanks from their holiday camper which was parked in the back yard.

2:48 pm – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – 911 hang-up call received. Member attended and located known male who advised they accidentally hit the emergency on their phone.

3:29 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 and North Saskatchewan Bridge – Driver hit guardrail attempting to avoid collision with deer.

3:33 pm – Drayton Valley – Jocelyn’s Independent – Complainant reporting a female who is refusing to leave. Members attended, female outside. Members spoke to female who advised they were going elsewhere to shop.

5:15 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting an erratic driver passed them into oncoming traffic on 50 Street. Suspect vehicle is a white Dodge half ton, crew cab.

5:55 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a family disturbance. Members attended, spoke to all parties, daughter taken to hospital.

7:49 pm – Lodgepole – Complainant calling to report theft of vehicle. Vehicle had been sold by ex. Member got ahold of new owner and advised them of the issue. This is a civil matter involving the separation of marital property. Ongoing issue.

8:14 pm – Lodgepole – Complainant from above called again to advised ex had breached conditions.

11:12 pm – Drayton Valley – Servus Credit Union – Complainant reporting lights being turned on and off inside the credit union. Member attended, cleaning staff was on site.

11:21 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported an erratic driver, vehicle weaving and changing speeds. Member located the vehicle and found the driver sober. Driver denied driving erratically, was on his way home from work.

May 1

11:18 am – Lodgepole – Complainant reported several items stolen from his truck over the past week.

1:47 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Panic alarm triggered at local hotel, no answer on site. Members attended and confirmed the cleaning staff hit the button in error.

6:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St/Hwy 22 South – Complainant reported possible impaired driver in a black Chev truck. Unable to maintain speed or lane. Member located the truck at Scotty’s Esso and determined the driver was not impaired.

7:52 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Report from a Peace Officer of two vehicles, a black smaller car with tinted windows and a white Chrysler that took off at a high rate of speed refusing to stop. Based on location and direction the information was forwarded to Rocky Mountain House members.

8:33 pm – Drayton Valley – 44 Ave – Complainant reported finding a backpack in her garbage. Member attended and checked the backpack determining that the backpack was likely placed there by someone intentionally as it appeared to be garbage.

8:35 pm – Brazeau County – RR81 – Complainant reported a suspicious red Dodge Neon parked in the middle of the road. A male had been seen walking toward Hwy 22 from the car. Member attended and located the suspicious male who had driven through a large puddle and now his car wouldn’t start. The driver was arranging for a friend to help

11:29 pm – Parkland County – RR71/Twp 514 – Complaint of a black sedan that had rolled at location. Driver had asked for a screwdriver to remove the plate and mentioned having no insurance. Member attended and towed the vehicle. Driver swerved to avoid a moose. Still under investigation.

May 2

4:10 am – Drayton Valley – Information received lead to recovery of a 2017 GMC stolen out of Red Deer. Under investigation.

5:07 am – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Complainant reported a likely domestic assault ongoing in a vehicle in the laneway. Members attended, suspects gone. Based on descriptions two persons were identified as suspects. The female was located but denied any contact with the male and had no visible injuries.

5:36 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22/Buck Creek Rd – Complainant reported a suspicious vehicle, driving very quickly, last seen turning toward Buck Creek. Vehicle not located and provided plate number not attached to any vehicle. Similar to the car described in previous domestic file.
