Candlelight vigil in Red Deer for Sri Lanka bombing victims

A candlelight vigil is being held in Red Deer to honour those killed in the Easter bombing attack in Sri Lanka.

The vigil is slated for Thursday starting at 8 p.m. at City Hall Park. It is being hosted by the Red Deer Welcoming and Inclusive Communities Network.

359 people are confirmed dead from the attack.

The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility while a Sri Lankan official has blamed breakaway members of two obscure local extremist groups.
