Three flu deaths in Central Zone this week

There have been three new influenza-related deaths in the AHS Central Zone for the week ending February 1.

That brings this flu season’s total to 11 for Central Zone. There were two other deaths from influenza this week, bringing the provincial total to 61.

There was also a big spike in the number of central Albertans admitted to hospital with lab confirmed influenza.

There have now been 212 in Central Zone, which is still the lowest in Alberta, but that represents an increase of 68.3 per cent from just a week ago.
