Drugs, loaded rifle and counterfeit U.S. cash seized in Penhold traffic stop
A Red Deer woman and Calgary man are facing charges after RCMP seized drugs, a loaded rifle and counterfeit U.S. cash during a traffic stop in Penhold Friday morning.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. when Innisfail Mounties spotted two suspicious vehicles. One was stopped with police arresting both the male passenger who was found to be wanted on 10 outstanding warrants and the female driver who was found to be on curfew conditions. Illegal drugs, a loaded .22 caliber Ruger 10/22 rifle with a magazine and phony U.S. cash were also seized in the process.
Tasha King, 20, of Red Deer has been charged with Knowingly possessing a firearm while unauthorized, Possession of a firearm without a license, Occupant of a motor vehicle with a firearm, Possession of a restricted weapon, Possession of counterfeit money, Possession of a controlled substance and six counts of Failing to comply with recognizance.
Dustin Mitchell, 22, of Calgary has been charged with Obstruction, Failing to comply with probation and three counts of Failing to comply with recognizance.
