Mandatory water conservation will soon be going into effect in Red Deer County for the summer season.
Officials say starting May 1 to September 30, all businesses and residents that are connected to the municipal water utility, may not water lawns, gardens, yards or grounds between the hours of Noon and 7:00 p.m.
Customers with odd numbered addresses may water their lawns on odd numbered days, while those with even numbered addresses can water on even numbered days on the calendar.
However, customers with new lawns or newly seeded lawns may water daily within the approved daily time allotments, for a period not to exceed six weeks.
