The Red Deer Riggers are looking at a must-win situation at the Senior Men’s AAA Baseball National Championships in Victoria, B.C. today.

The Riggers are 1-2 after two days of play at nationals following a 5-1 loss to Newfoundland and Labrador on Friday.

Team officials say outfielder JP Willner had a solo homerun in the loss.

The 10-team tournament began on Thursday morning with the Riggers opening their round-robin schedule with an 8-0 shutout win over the Iderton (ON2) Red Army.
