Maskwacis Mall goes solar
The Ermineskin Cree Nation has partnered with the Government of Alberta for a greener future.
A new solar power system has been installed at Maskwacis Mall to reduce emissions and save money.
The panels will save the community almost $8,000 a year in utilities costs, allowing the Ermineskin Cree Nation to put money towards other community priorities.
“Ermineskin Cree Nation has shown great leadership in taking action to help combat the effects of climate change,” says Minister of Indigenous Relations Richard Feehan. “We are proud to support the Nation in their efforts to make life better for their community and for future generations.”
