Edmonton Police Service to issue apology to LGBTQ community
Oct 24, 2018 | 8:58 AM
EDMONTON- Police chief Rod Knecht says the service will apologize to Edmonton’s LGBTQ community next year — after he leaves the job.
Knecht says some police officers have not treated members of the community well in the past, including significant mistakes that harmed people.
He says that has caused some people to be fearful of police.
The Edmonton Police Service apology is expected to come in March.
