Red Deer’s pee wee football teams to battle for Blair Murray Trophy
Red Deer’s two pee wee football teams are preparing for a head-to-head playoff match-up at Setter’s Place at Great Chief Park this weekend.
The Steelers (5-1) and the Hornets (5-1) will clash Saturday at 4:00 p.m. with bragging rights, a spot in the next round of playoffs and the Blair Murray Trophy on the line.
The trophy is awarded in memory of the former Lindsay Thurber Raiders bantam coach who passed away in 2011.
Red Deer Minor Football President Greg Thompson says Murray embodied a dedication and passion for football that was second to none.
