‘Coventry’ the latest neighbourhood proposed for Red Deer
The City of Red Deer is laying the groundwork for a new neighbourhood in the northeast.
Monday night, city council heard from the Planning department that an application has been made for a new Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan (NASP) for the area located north of the future Northlands Drive Expressway, where the road turns southward into future 20 Avenue (currently road RR 271). It is proposed to be called “Coventry.”
Per City policy, when the first NASP for an area is proposed there must be a concurrent Multi-Neighbourhood Plan (MNP) approved. In this case, the MNP is called Clover Valley.
The Coventry NASP covers a 45-hectare portion in the southeast corner of the MNP.
