Alexeyev named WHL Player of the Week

Red Deer Rebels defenceman Alexander Alexeyev is the WHL ‘On The Run’ Player of the Week.

The Russian blue liner had a super week, racking up three goals and five assists in four games. He also earned a plus-10 plus/minus rating.

A first round selection of the Washington Capitals, Alexeyev is tied with Saskatoon’s Brandon Davidson for the lead among WHL defencemen with 20 points.

This is the first time a member of the Rebels has WHL Player of the Week honours.
