QE2 crash sends two to hospital
A crash between a southbound fuel truck and SUV sent two people to hospital and shutdown both southbound lanes of the QE2 between Olds and Disbury on Wednesday.
RCMP say it happened around 11:15 a.m. about five kilometres south of the Highway 27 overpass and resulted in traffic being redirected at Amerada Road to Highway 2A for several hours while emergency crews tended to the scene.
Mounties say the driver of the fuel truck which rear-ended the SUV was uninjured while a 22-year-old man from Edmonton driving the SUV was taken by STARS to Foothills Hospital in Calgary.
RCMP say the man suffered serious, potentially life-threatening injuries and has now been moved to the Intensive Care Unit.
