Red Deer Hospice launches No Show Gala fundraiser
Red Deerians are being encouraged to support a unique local fundraiser aimed at benefitting those receiving end-of-life care in our community.
The Red Deer Hospice No Show Gala is underway, with proceeds from the fundraiser going towards the organization’s $5.2 million expansion project, anticipated to add 15,000 square feet to their existing space by late 2019.
Lori Dufresne, Event Coordinator for Red Deer Hospice Society describes their No Show Gala as a fun way to present a raffle.
“We are known for our actual physical galas that we’ve been having for a number of years,” says Dufresne. “We typically sell-out for 500-600 guests and this year with our expansion, we just felt that we didn’t have the space at Hospice to do the prep and the storage of all of the décor items that go into creating our spectacular galas. We also have a fundraising campaign for the expansion going on in the community, so just felt that it was in the best interests of the community that we focus on our expansion but we still wanted to have something grass roots for gala attendees.”
