Dufresne says tickets are $25 and those who purchase by January 31, 2019 are also eligible to win the early bird prize of Calgary Flames 2019 season opener goal judge experience for four, courtesy of Calgary Sport and Entertainment Corporation.

“Final draws are taking place on May 5, 2019,” she explains. “We’re running the campaign for six months in honour of the six new resident rooms that are being built as part of the expansion. We will draw those grand prizes at our Run / Hike for Hospice event at Kerry Wood Nature Centre.”

According to Dufresne, expansion of the Red Deer Hospice facility is currently ahead of schedule.

“We actually have a floor, yesterday was being laid outside for the new resident rooms,” she points-out. “They will then start digging for the new basement that will support the two storeys on the half that we’re expanding, which will house the new administration offices because the new resident rooms are an extension of where the admin offices had been.”

Dufresne is also happy to report their expansion capital campaign has now reached the $1 million dollar mark, with hopes of adding another $100,000 if the No Show Gala sells out.

“We have a long way to go but we feel we have great momentum and our thanks to the community for getting us to that first million quickly,” she exclaims. “The expansion will be six new resident rooms but of course, involves a lot more than that in terms of enhanced family areas, enhanced kitchen for the extra residents that we’ll be accommodating and public spaces for day programming.”

Dufresne encourages residents to consider buying a Red Deer Hospice No Show Gala ticket as a stocking stuffer this Christmas, noting they can be purchased online or at the Red Deer Hospice facility at 99 Arnot Avenue in Red Deer.
