Off-duty cop foils attempted bank robbery

One man is facing charges after an attempted robbery at a bank in north Red Deer Thursday afternoon.
It happened shortly before 2:00 p.m. when RCMP responded to complaints of a suspicious man at the Scotiabank at Gaetz Avenue and 67 Street.
An off-duty officer in the bank at the time approached and detained the suspect.
Mounties say no one was hurt and no money was taken.
A police spokesperson says no weapons were involved in the incident and charges are pending.
