Tax recovery process for the Town of Rocky Mountain House in effect
The tax recovery process is regulated by the Province and it is important the Town of Rocky Mountain House follow the process as per the Municipal Government Act.
Any property owners two years or more in arrears have been sent a letter indicating that if they don’t pay up by March 22, the Town will be placing a tax recovery notification on their property.
The letter further indicates if they don’t pay the arrears by March 21, 2020, the Town will hold a public auction to recover the outstanding taxes.
If the property is sold at the auction, the municipality applies to the proceeds to the outstanding taxes and fees associated with the recovery process and any monies owed to the crown.
