Women’s March pushes for healing and positivity in Red Deer
The first ever Red Deer Women’s March took place Saturday morning with approximately 100 people — men and women — in attendance.
The march, which was co-organized by Sadia Khan with the Central Alberta Sexual Assault Support Centre, began with a smudge, then went from the Club Cafe on Ross Street, down past City Hall, and back to the Club Cafe for a potluck.
Khan says the march, happening a day after International Women’s Day, should be a reminder to celebrate the accomplishments of women and to work to rid the world of inequity every day of the year.
