The incumbent NDP MLA for Red Deer-North is highlighting the government’s commitment to Red Deer Regional Hospital expansion during the provincial election campaign.

Kim Schreiner notes the government’s last budget for example put $1 million towards the proposed project’s business case.

“Rachel is absolutely committed to the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre extension and catheterization lab, very excited about that,” exclaims Schreiner. “Rachel has committed to the hospital expansion no matter what the Needs Assessment deems that we need. We know we need an expansion and no matter what that looks like we will get it done, it will happen for Red Deer.”

Schreiner says she plans to knock on as many doors as possible during the election campaign.

“I want to say that we haven’t stopped campaigning since four years ago,” adds Schreiner. “I have been going out to the doors weekly talking to my constituents and that’s what got us our hospital, our university, the interchange, all of the great things that we’ve been able to get for Red Deer and central Alberta over the past four years, our schools, all great new stories that we got for Red Deer.”

Schreiner says she’s hearing a lot of trust issues surrounding UCP Leader Jason Kenney during her talks with constituents.

“A lot of people have concerns,” she exclaims. “They’re wondering just how much they can really trust his word. But people know that Rachel is all about her word and everything she’s committed to she’s fallen through and for us and she has all Albertans backs.”
