Mounties seize loaded handgun in Maskwacis

A 22-year-old man is facing charges after Mounties searched a residence on the Samson Townsite at Maskwacis and seized a loaded revolver handgun.

Police say the Maskwacis RCMP Community Response Unit (CRU) conducted the search on March 12 around 8:00 am and made entry into a single family home where they found the unsecured gun in a bedroom.

Blaine Saskatchewan was arrested and charged with possession of the handgun and unsafe storage.

RCMP allege Saskatchewan was on release conditions not to attend Maskwacis and was also charged with failing to comply with his conditions.
