McDowell in the hunt at Canadian Junior Boys Golf Championship
Chandler McDowell of Springbrook is in contention through two rounds at the Canadian Junior Boys Golf Championship.
The 17-year-old Red Deer Golf and Country Club member locked in a 1-under-par 69 on Tuesday to sit at minus-1 for the tournament, one shot back of the lead.
Three players are tied for the tournament lead while McDowell is one of four players tied for second.
Brady McKinlay, 16, of Lacombe is tied for 42nd overall (9th in the juvenile division) through two rounds after posting scores of 72 and 73. Carter Graf, 16, of Sylvan Lake (Red Deer Golf & C C) is tied for 55th overall (18th in the juvenile division) after rounds of 76 and 70.
