Red Deer trampoline competitors qualify for world championships

Seven members with the Thunder Country Trampoline and Gymnastics Club from Red Deer competed at the recent Canada Cup Trampoline Championships in Calgary.

The competition featured competitors from across Canada, as well as Belarus, Sweden and the United States.

Kalena Soehn won two medals in the National Junior Women division, taking gold in Trampoline and silver in Double Mini Trampoline. She qualified in the Trampoline 17 + age category for the Canadian Team that will be heading to the World Age Group Championships in Bulgaria this November.

Zachary Blakely qualified in Trampoline and Double Mini Trampoline in the 17+ category. He won silver in Trampoline in Calgary and placed fourth in Double Mini.

Kyle Soehn won bronze in the National Senior Men division at the Canada Cup. He along with his brother Keegan won silver in the synchronized trampoline event.

Kalena Soehn and Alexandra Potter won gold in synchronized trampoline in the Novice Women division.

Ashton Henfrey and Ebony Campbell also represented Thunder Country club at the Canada Cup.
