Maskwacis couple suffers serious injuries in assault

A man and woman suffered serious injuries in an aggravated assault incident at Maskwacis.

Mounties responded just before 10 p.m. Friday to a residence on the Montana First Nation where an assault had been reported. 

A male and female were found in the residence with serious injuries and the RCMP assisted with providing first aid, pending the arrival of EMS. 

A 42-year-old female was transported by STARS Air Ambulance and remains in hospital in critical condition. A 37-year-old male was transported by ground ambulance and also remains in hospital.
